Xplorer App Privacy Policy

1.What data do we collect?

Currently, Xplorer collects your location, if you grant permission for it to do so.

Certain puzzles may also ask you to complete a survey at the end in order to receive a discount code from a partner for that hunt.

2.What do we do with this data?

If granted, this data is used to display your location relative to the location of clues you are trying to solve.
Specifically, it is used to display an indicator of your location on the map.

3.Is this data shared?

We partner with Mapbox to display the clues and your location on the map.
Their privacy policy can be consulted at https://www.mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
No other identifying data is shared with Mapbox.

Survey results may be shared with the partners associated with the hunt you completed.

4.How long is the data stored?

We only store your location while you are using Xplorer, and only within the Xplorer application running on your phone.

Survey results shared with puzzle partners may be stored for an indefinite period of time.

5.May I opt out of sharing this information?

Yes.

If you don't grant Xplorer location permissions, you may still use the application, but your location will not be displayed on the map and you may have to manually pan the map to center on the location of the clues.

Surveys at the end of puzzles are optional.
